Our people
The Cylix team combine decades of experience and offer the full range of skills required to design, develop and deliver first class e-learning solutions. Following are profiles of some of the core members of the team.
Steven Price, Managing Director
An English graduate with over 15 years' experience producing e-learning, Steven has experience working as a developer, instructional designer and project manager on a wide variety of e-learning projects. He therefore has a very broad and comprehensive understanding of the development process, learning theory and the e-learning industry. At Cylix, Steven's primary roles are in business development, account management and e-learning consultancy.
Philip Smith, Technical Director
Holding a BA in English, Philip has worked for the past twenty years in IT, mostly in the education sector. As a technical developer, designer, and systems analyst, Philip has worked on a wide range of projects, most recently specializing in the integration of new media and server technologies. At Cylix, Philip heads up the technical aspects of the business, with a special focus on learning technologies. He's also an accomplished instructional designer, having written several courses on team leadership and diversity.
Bruce Whitehorn, Systems Consultant
Holding a BSc in Mathematics and Computing, Bruce has over 15 years of experience in software development and IT systems management. Prior to joining Cylix, Bruce was IT Manager for the F&HE division of Capita Education Services, managing over 250 PCs and 60 servers across 5 sites. At Cylix, Bruce's key responsibilities are management of Cylix's IT infrastructure, and providing IT consultancy services to our customers.
Vincent Ambross, Senior Software Engineer
Holding a BSc in Computer Science, Vincent has over five years' experience developing interactive e-learning materials. In his current role, Vincent is responsible for developing and maintaining Learnforge, the powerful Flash development environment that we use to build our courses. Learnforge incorporates a range of features that help to make our courses highly engaging and stimulating experiences for learners.
Nathan McKinley, Developer
Nathan holds a BSc Hons in Video, Imaging & Communication Technology and has worked in the e-learning and digital media sector for over seven years. With a strong background covering games development and rich web applications, Nathan is well placed in our development team to produce inspired e-learning content.
Daniel Bolton, Developer
Holding a BA Hons in Multimedia, Dan has over two years' commercial experience developing e-learning materials. As well as being familiar with a range of development tools - in particular, Flash - Dan is also highly proficient using a range of graphics packages and rich media creation/editing packages, such as Adobe Audition. Dan's a key developer at Cylix and has played a major role in many of our recent projects.
