Carers fulfil a vitally important role in society. But all too often in the past, the work that they do hasn't been recognised or valued as it should be. Carer Aware has been designed to help change that: it provides your staff with the knowledge and understanding they need to identify and meet the needs of carers.
Developed in collaboration with the Health & Social Care team at Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, Carer Aware is a practical, engaging and highly cost-effective online training resource that can be accessed by your staff whenever and wherever suits them.
The Carer Aware course is made up of four bite-sized sections:
Who cares?
Defines "carer" and provides key facts and figures about carers and the work that they do.
Carers' legal rights
Outlines the main legal rights of carers in relation to Community Care Assessments, Carers' Assessments, Carer's Allowance and employment.
Meeting the needs of carers
Outlines the main needs of carers and the services available to meet these.
Test your knowledge
Comprehensive mastery test to verify each user's knowledge and understanding of the contents of the course.
