We are committed to protecting your privacy and take stringent measures to ensure we comply with relevant data protection legislation and keep your information secure.
We will only store any personal information that you provide to us in the ways described below, and we will not share it with anyone else unless required to by law, or as part of a contract we enter into with you.
If you contact us to enquire about our products and services, we will keep a record of your contact details so that we can send you relevant information. If you then become a customer we will also keep a record of your order and invoicing details so that we can deliver our products and services to you.
We occasionally send out targeted product announcements using a contact list that we have constructed ourselves from publicly available sources. We do not purchase contact lists from third parties although we may in future if we are assured that they have been collected lawfully and professionally.
We carry out this processing under the legal basis of “legitimate interests”. The ICO explicitly supports direct marketing on this basis, and we have applied the following tests to ensure that our processing is lawful:
- Purpose test. We have a legitimate interest in marketing our goods to existing and potential customers in order to increase our sales.
- Necessity test. Our use of occasional emails (or equivalent) is a targeted and proportionate way of achieving our purpose.
- Balancing test. We contact individuals in relevant roles who can reasonably expect their data to be processed in this way. Our processing does not significantly impact upon their rights and freedoms.
If you would like us to stop processing your data for marketing purposes, just get in touch. Please let us know if any of your details change and we will update them as appropriate.
Our offices and IT equipment are kept secure with a range of physical and electronic measures. We also make use of secure cloud based systems and services which are hosted in the UK or EU, or covered by strict agreements as required by data protection legislation.
We keep secure backups for business continuity purposes. We are also required by law to keep some commercial records, which may include personal data, for at least 6 years.
In the event of a data breach that could significantly affect you, we promise to notify you in full accordance with our obligations under data protection law.
If we are hosting courses for you or your organisation, then we are a data processor in terms of data protection law. This processing is carried out strictly in accordance with our Software Licence Agreement and Data Processing Agreement. Please ask us if you would like a copy.
